‘Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain’ tackles identity and more in a recent episode
Ramble presents “Anything Goes,” hosted by social media influencer Emma Chamberlain. In this 39-minute episode, “identity,” Emma shares insight on how we define who we are, what inspires us, our personalities, and more. Instagram approached Emma with the idea for this episode, and she was happy to explore a variety of concepts under the umbrella term of identity.
Emma started on YouTube, amassing millions of fans due to her relatable stories, authenticity, and vulnerability. In this podcast episode, Emma shares personal anecdotes on how her identity has evolved many times over the years. She provides tips and advice to listeners on how to develop one’s identity and better understand the self.
At the beginning of the episode, Emma shares she looked up “identity” in the dictionary for context and read the definition: “the fact of being who or what a person or thing is.”
Emma believes identity is a complex concept, inclusive of interests, friends, how you present yourself to the world, and your personal beliefs, values, and morals. It is also reflective of how you behave in situations and interact with new information. Emma said it is healthy for people’s identities to change over time.
Emma ran through some of her identity phases, including iPad animating as a sassy kid, painting, and shopping with her mom. Emma loved singing as a child, and now, she refuses to.
