Elon Musk stopped by the “Lex Fridman Podcast” for the third time in December 2021. In this thoroughly informative 2 hour and 39 minute episode, Elon answered questions as the CEO of SpaceX, Tesla, Neuralink, and Boring Company. This long-form interview deep-dives into so many hot topics we’ve been hearing a lot about these days, and Elon does a wondrous job unpacking Lex’s insightful questions. In this episode, hear about SpaceX, colonizing Mars, Bitcoin, cryptocurrency, Tesla, the meaning of life, and more. Elon also shared what he’s most excited about for the future.

In this episode, listeners learn all about the SpaceX human space flight and the array of accomplishments SpaceX achieved in 2021. Over the summer, Elon was super relieved after a successful launch. On the podcast, Elon analyzed Starship and contemplated what engineering problems he’d like to solve, saying engine production has been the most time consuming aspect of his chief engineering role. Elon recommended the Countdown: Inspiration4 Mission to Space documentary on Netflix and was further inspired after watching it.

When innovating, Elon explained his work ethic and that he doesn’t give up. In terms of humans on Mars and colonizing the planet, Elon had some interesting theories. He also shared potential forms of future government structuring ideas on Mars. Elon investigated wormholes, discussed Tesla for nearly 30 minutes, answered questions about the autopilot feature, self-driving technology, Tesla bots, and Tesla FSD v11.

Around the 2-hour mark, Lex asked Elon to do a meme review and unveiled that he’s in favor of nuclear power. At the 2 hour 22 minute mark, Elon contemplated if a stand-up comedy set is in his future, as he likes riffing when hanging with friends and slayed at hosting SNL. Elon shared his favorite Rick & Morty concepts since the show has many scientific elements.
