Actor Fred Savage lends his voice to “Sugar Maple’s” narrator, Terrance Woodridge, in a fictional and music-infused adventure. Terrance is a documentarian on an obsessive quest to find a legendary guitar. This Fender Telecaster was reconstructed with an extraordinary wood scrap and passed to eight different owners across decades. When each player receives the guitar, they write one song. Do the songs have special powers and form a pattern? Or are the guitar’s recipients vehicles for the possibly magical instrument to transmit its own messages? The only solution is for Terrance to track down the guitar and find out for himself in “Sugar Maple.”

Start the 8-episode series from the very beginning to hear the story unfold. The first episode dropped on March 15, and new episodes will be released over the next few weeks. So far, “Sugar Maple” episodes are less than 45 minutes each.

Stay tuned for original music and plot twists featured each episode. The storylines are fantastical adventures, with each episode focusing on one of the guitar’s previous owners dancing through eras and genres, from 1950s blues to 1970s Motown and 1990s metal.

In episode one, Terrance recounts the guitar’s tale and then transports listeners to 1951. We hear Bobby Lindro’s “Sweet Licks,” a story about an orphan raised in farmlands near Chicago. The Telecaster’s neck was damaged and Bobby does not know what to do. His aunt finds mysterious wood that fixes the guitar perfectly. Bobby suddenly has vivid dreams that bring him places he had never thought to go.

Additional characters this episode are voiced by Ricky Gee (Bobby Lindro), Connie Castanzo (Becky), Jo Walker (Rebecca Woodridge), Deborah Geffner (Aunt Buggy), Daniel Light (Del Faucet), and Michelle Hurst (Doc).

This podcast also has NFT offerings for its poster designs.
