World Cup Champion and Olympian Hope Solo chats about gender equality, motherhood, and more on ‘Hope Solo Speaks’
“Hope Solo Speaks” is a new podcast hosted by the World Cup Champ and Olympian. Hope was Team USA’s goalkeeper for over 200 matches, and she’s letting her guard down for conversations with inspirational and influential guests on her podcast. Upcoming episodes will cover athletics, changing sports trends, motherhood, and life, where any topic is fair game. Hope will break barriers, speak truths, and share what’s important to her in this SiriusXM series.

The podcast kicked off with Hope’s former teammate and friend, Carli Lloyd, who retired in 2021. They discussed the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team’s pay settlement with the U.S. Soccer Federation and why Hope says the $24 million settlement for the gender discrimination lawsuit is not enough. Hope expresses why she feels sadness and betrayal as a result, how to right the wrongs, and repair the team’s culture.
In the podcast’s trailer, Hope said this show is an opportunity for her to share what’s on her mind and break free from all boxes the public has placed her in for years. Hope is thrilled to share what she stands for, and upcoming episodes will discuss her life after retirement, practices for coaching modern day athletes, and new parents’ struggles.
During Hope’s career, she earned two Olympic gold medals, a Women’s World Cup title, and retired from the USWNT after breaking records. Hope’s achievements include the most career shutouts at 102, the longest undefeated goalkeeping streak for 55 matches in a row, 190 starts, 202 appearances, and more. She was elected into the National Soccer Hall of Fame this year.
