New York Magazine presents “Into It: A Vulture Podcast with Sam Sanders,” a new series obsessing over culture and breaking down news with special guests. Sam is joined by folks like Vulture and New York Magazine’s staff, an occasional celebrity, and more in weekly episodes. Sam is focusing on things he’s into including music, movies, TV shows, memes, and all things pop culture.
Stream this series in any order, with the most recent episodes covering topical news. We recommend this series for fans of Sam’s hosting style previously heard on “It’s Been a Minute” since 2017 and was one of the first co-hosts on the “NPR Politics Podcast.” With those podcasts, Sam developed a loyal fanbase and hosted long-form interviews with guests like Syd, Questlove, “Switched on Pop” hosts Charlie Harding and Nate Sloan, and many more until Sam exited the show in March 2022.
The first episode of “Into It: A Vulture Podcast with Sam Sanders” has a lovely cadence and featured Vulture’s Rebecca Alter and New York Magazine culture editor Dee Lockett. They played a bunch of games and commented on a range of topics from Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck to Keke Palmer before diving into Beyoncé with journalist Danyel Smith to unpack Beyoncé’s work. Danyel and Sam discussed how her surprise album in 2013 changed the music world and why they could not wait for Renaissance.
The second episode explored the movie studio A24 with Vulture’s Alison Wilmore and Nate Jones. This studio has produced outstanding films like Midsommar, Everything Everywhere All At Once, and Bodies Bodies Bodies – just to name a few. Comedian Amber Ruffin also joined the episode to play a game about culture that haunts us.
We’re looking forward to hearing more episodes of “Into It: A Vulture Podcast with Sam Sanders.” Tune in Thursdays for new episodes presented by New York Magazine and the Vox Media Podcast Network.
