If you or any of your loved ones have ever come down with Bieber Fever, you may be entitled to compensation. Symptoms include nostalgia for swooping 2010 haircuts, uncontrollable screaming and crying, and listening to “Yummy” all the way through. Okay, we can’t lie, there’s a little bit of a Belieber in all of us: “Baby” is a classic and “Love Yourself” is something all musicians should aspire to. And the Fever is back with a vengeance as Justin and his wife, Hailey Bieber, sit down to talk all about their marriage on “In Good Faith with Chelsea and Judah Smith.”

In just the second episode of this new Cadence13 podcast, leaders of the Churchome organization/community, Chelsea and Judah Smith, invite members and close friends Justin and Hailey to talk about their unconventional marriage. At ages 24 and 21 respectively, Justin and Hailey tied the knot in September of 2018, just three months after they began dating.

Justin’s relationship with the Smiths goes back much farther. His mother had heard Judah preaching when he was just 21 years old and was so moved that she bought cassette tapes of his sermons, playing them for a very young Justin as he would fall asleep. Justin and the Smiths reconnected later in life, with Justin joining their Churchome religious organization.

The Smith’s would go on to become close friends with Justin, and later, Hailey. So, they wanted to sit down with them on “In Good Faith” and see what their first years of marriage have been like, what they’ve learned along the way, and what their future plans are.

Hailey, Judah, and Chelsea comment on Justin’s unexpected aspirations of marriage and starting a family, saying that they’ve seen plenty of examples of children with separated parents not wanting to dive into that commitment (Justin was raised by his mother and had little contact with his father for most of his life). Hailey talks about her parents, Stephen Baldwin and Kennya Deodato Baldwin, and their three-decade long marriage and how that’s shaped her perspective.

They go on to discuss Justin and Hailey’s actual wedding and the fluctuating plans of having an enormous extravagant event versus an intimate family celebration. Hailey and Justin talk about the media scrutiny about their seemingly quickly developing relationship, talking about their brief relationship years prior in 2015 and even getting a picture together at his Never Say Never premiere in 2014. While it seemed quick to everyone else, it wasn’t as quick for them.

As for what they’ve been up to more recently, they talk about traveling, food, and teaching Justin to enjoy dinner. From his upcoming tour to planning for babies, the Biebers talk about their favorite aspects of each other, their marriage, and their lives together. Whether you are a fan of Bieber or not, his and Hailey’s time on “In Good Faith” is unexpectedly sweet and an unusually personal look into their lives. You’ll be hard-pressed to find another interview quite like this one with the Biebers. Be sure to check out the Biebers episode of “In Good Faith with Chelsea & Judah Smith.”
