Well, it’s no secret that women’s sports don’t get nearly they same media coverage as their male counterparts. And on top of it, only 11% of sports broadcasters are women. There is nothing we love more than hearing women talking about the sports they love (and in some cases, have dominated). So we have gathered some amazing sports podcasts hosted by women that actually talk about women’s sports, too.
We have podcasts recapping the newest news in the NBA, WNBA, NFL, NWSL, and more, along with podcasts speaking to the biggest names in sports, from Sue Bird to Steph Curry. Check out these eight sports podcasts hosted by women.
Every Tuesday and Thursday, Haley O’Shaughnessy and Jordan Ligons are bringing a refreshing perspective to basketball coverage on “Spinsters.” Funny, charming, and nuanced (also apparent in their written coverage of the NBA and WNBA), these two have all the chemistry and basketball knowledge you are looking for in a podcast. “Spinsters” is hitting you with fresh takes twice a week, bringing the banter and the compelling storylines that didn’t make the headlines.
Full Time with Meg Linehan

The Mina Kimes Show featuring Lenny
We obviously have to throw some love to Mina Kimes. One of the smartest minds in football analysis, “The Mina Kimes Show featuring Lenny” is all about her unique insight on the NFL. It’s truly got it all: football, women talking football, men not gatekeeping football, and a dog!
The GIST of It
Twice a week, our friends over at The Gist are pumping out sports news on their podcast “The GIST of It.” Hosts Ellen Hyslop and Stephanie Rotz are discussing what’s new in sports with an emphasis on the intersection with pop culture and social issues. With an extra emphasis on women’s sports, “The GIST of It” is turning the tide when it comes to the measly coverage that women’s sports receive on major sports channels.
Just Women’s Sports
Two-time World Cup champion and Olympic gold medalist Kelley O’Hara is sitting down with the biggest names in sports on “Just Women’s Sports.” Together, they are speaking on what it takes to be a professional athlete in today’s world. She’s been joined by the likes of WNBA legend Sue Bird, Shalane Flanagan, Hilary Knight, Dawn Staley, Venus Williams, and so many more to chat about life.

In a similar vein, “Hear Her Sports” is a biweekly podcast where female athletes share their stories of being female professional athletes. With many successes and failures along the way, they share their words of wisdom that they’ve learned in their trajectories.
