8 groovy Beatles podcasts to stream before watching ‘The Beatles: Get Back’ on Disney+

Music November 26, 2021

On November 25th, 26th, and 27th, the highly-anticipated Beatles documentary, Get Back, premieres on Disney+. We’ve rounded up some podcasts about John, Paul, George, and Ringo to get hyped for the three-part film.

Looking back at the same timeframe covered in the 1969 film, Let It Be, Get Back shares never-before-seen footage documenting the three weeks writing and recording 14 new songs and preparing for their first live show in two years, which would be their final performance as a band at London’s Savile Row.

Filmmaker Peter Jackson sifted through over 56 hours of footage shot by Michael Lindsay-Hogg that was previously locked in a vault. Jackson directed the documentary and edited it down to three parts showcasing rehearsals and how their iconic songs were created. This film shares a more lighthearted narrative in contrast with the 1969 film, Let It Be, which was publicly perceived as a tense time for the band.

On our podcast round-up, we’ve selected shows with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr discussing songwriting, the documentary, and their latest projects. There are episodes with Beatles experts sharing facts about the film, and a writer shared spoilers from when he previewed the film over the summer.
