Long live the queens: the 7 best RuPaul’s Drag Race podcasts
Since RuPaul Charles started his reality competition show in 2009, the art of drag has taken the world by storm. RuPaul’s Drag Race has produced some of the biggest stars and most influential celebrities of this century: Trixie Mattel, Bob the Drag Queen, Kim Chi, Bianca Del Rio, Katya, and far more. The show holds the Emmy record for the most wins for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program.
Naturally, drag queens have taken to podcasting, covering everything from makeup, to gossip, to pop culture, to recaps of the show that shot them to the big screen. Here are the best podcasts hosted by queens and podcasts about RuPaul’s Drag Race to stream just as season 2 of RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race premieres this August.
Sibling Rivalry
Bob the Drag Queen and Monét X Change are not actually siblings, but they bicker like they are. In “Sibling Rivalry,” the profoundly hilarious comedy duo talk about whatever they want, typically relating to gender, race, the art of drag, or New York. Although, they both moved to Los Angeles, so maybe they’ll be talking about that more. Both are winners of RuPaul’s Drag Race: Bob won Season 8, and Monét won All Stars Season 4, and together, they will have you snickering in your office chair. Also, they have their series “Sibling Watchery,” where they recap and review the show that launched them to world domination.
The Bald and the Beautiful with Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamo
We’d be surprised if you’ve never heard the names Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova. The two drag queens are known for their raunchy humor, their unhinged laughing styles, and their beautiful faces. Their podcast “The Bald and the Beautiful with Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamo” has taken all that we love about the duo and thrust them into deeper, longer conversations about the beauty industry. While their podcast is not about Drag Race, both competed on the show and have now become two of the most successful queens to come from the franchise. They interview models, influencers, actors, drag queens and adult performers about what makes them gorgeous. For an episode recommendation, you will be losing it for a full 62 minutes with “Bug-Eyed TikTok Bitch with Brittany Broski.”
Race Chaser with Alaska & Willam
You guessed it, more Ru Girls! Alaska and the mononymously named Willam host “Race Chaser,” one of the top RuPaul’s Drag Race podcasts you’ll find anywhere. Anyway, “Race Chaser” comes out with weekly episodes, varying from sharing the hot gossip in pop culture to reviewing the most recent episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race. When there’s no season on the air, they rewatch the older seasons of Drag Race.
