A dentist turned cocaine kingpin? Larry Lavin shares his story in new true crime anthology series ‘Wolves Among Us’
Who knows what truly lurks behind every seemingly perfect façade. C13Originals’ new true crime anthology series, “Wolves Among Us” peels back the façade to explore well-known figures from communities living dual lives with sinister alter egos and harboring dark secrets. Season 1, “The Larry Lavin Story” chronicles Lavin’s story, an Ivy League-educated dentist adored by his community who also became the largest cocaine kingpin on the Eastern Seaboard.
Lavin blended into his Philadelphia community, residing in a quiet neighborhood with his wife and family, driving a Volvo, and practicing dentistry for years. From 1978 to 1984, Lavin ran successful cocaine enterprises, and in “Wolves Among Us,” we’ll hear the unfiltered story told by Lavin himself, his friends, business associates, drug runners, and law enforcement.
Start the series from episode 1 to hear the complete saga from Lavin’s early path to moonlighting as a drug kingpin and impacting Philadelphia’s culture in the late ’70s and early ’80s. Lavin walks listeners through the series of events that placed him on the FBI’s 10 most-wanted fugitive list. Hear about Lavin’s drug trafficking operations, the manhunt that brought him down, his charges, and more.
