For anyone who can’t get enough of Conan O’Brien, “Inside Conan: An Important Hollywood Podcast” feels the same. Longtime Conan writers Mike Sweeney and Jessie Gaskell host this Conan history podcast, giving listeners the inside scoop on Conan’s most iconic moments from 1993 up until his TBS finale. You’ll hear all of the stories you forgot and hear about iconic guests’ favorite Conan moments on this podcast expanding the Conan-verse.

“Inside Conan: An Important Hollywood Podcast” is just as entertaining as the man himself. It began in 2019 with Jessie and Mike exploring the behind-the-scenes parts of the show. Now, it is a great way to focus on the guests and crew who have been a part of the Conan legacy.

Guests range from actors/comedians like Ashley Nicole Black and Fred Armisen to Conan’s own team of field producers, head costume designer, head writers, and monologue writers. And, just recently, Conan himself joined his writers to look back on “Inside Conan” and his own shows finale. Obviously, this conversation divulges into wearing shorts in front of Martin Short, his trip to Italy in relation to a lifelong pursuit of silliness, and his upcoming HBO Max show.

Not only will you hear from huge stars who loved being on Conan’s late night shows and podcast, but you’ll also hear from the people who accompanied Conan along the way. Andy Richter, Conan’s beloved sidekick, joins the crew to chat about originally being with Late Night with Conan O’Brien as a first writer before being bumped to a co-host/sidekick position. He also talks about the fan-favorite Conan remotes, from falling for Paul Rudd’s pranks, joining Tinder, and getting poison ivy (which was more unplanned than the rest.)

Along with all of this, Jessie and Mike give you all of the things you could have had with Conan if only they weren’t cut for time. From bagged sketches, cut jokes, and dumped segments, not only is it a way for the two to show off their comedy-chops, but it’s a real inside look at what it’s like to be a writer on a late night show.

Potentially funnier than Conan himself (don’t tell him we said that), “Inside Conan: An Important Hollywood Podcast” is important for reasons we cannot disclose. It’s truly just an extra dose of Conan’s own humor from the mouths of the people who actually write it. So many of Conan’s guests who made his legacy what it is talk about their favorite Conan moments, their first interviews with him, and working beside a living legend. Truly, for any Conan superfans, this is the pinnacle.
