John Murray / Spry FM presents “Saturday Night Live (SNL) Afterparty,” an uproarious TV review show for SNL fans, featuring post-show commentary and updates on cast and crew. Host Katherine Coleman and special guests unpack SNL‘s sketches, characters, weekly hosts, and music performances. SNL is now in its 47th season and added 10 new writers to its team. We can’t wait to watch the show every Saturday and hear Katherine and her guests’ hilariously “intimate, probing, aggressive — yet tender — conversations” on each podcast episode. Katherine is so accurate when she likens SNL to following a sports team with interchangeable lineups each season.

From cold opens to weekend updates and ROFL-inducing skits with favorite celebrity guest spots, “Saturday Night Live (SNL) Afterparty” episodes feature the best-of moments from Katherine’s recaps. Complete sketch-by-sketch reviews are available in extended episodes for subscribers.

It’s fun to hear how Katherine first met the guests/friends she’s joined with for each episode. Many of the guests, she’s worked with before on comedy projects. In the “Jason Sudeikis/Brandi Carlile” episode, Katherine is joined by Hunter Hopewell, a TV producer she met waiting in SNL‘s standby line for Season 45’s David Harbour episode in 2019. Hunter was in town for a work trip, camped out on the sidewalk, met Katherine and her friend, and they were moved from the standby line into filming.

Katherine loves Ted Lasso and was thrilled that Jason was hosting this season. On this episode, Katherine discussed how accurately hilarious SNL‘s chaotic classroom skit was, since she used to teach in-person. Hunter said how remarkable it is when the cast transforms into kids for sketches.

NYC-based sketch comedians Charlotte Otremba and Laura Ornella joined Katherine to dish on Season 47 Episode 2, “Kim Kardashian West / Halsey” where Kim was “down to clown.” This episode reviewed SNL cast member Pete Davidson’s Aladdin skit with Kim, and talked about how they’ve been seen out-and-about together since the show. This season, Katherine and co. also covered Rami Malek’s memorable Pete Davidson impersonation, Owen Wilson’s “Billionaire Star Trek” spin-off skit, and more.

Katherine is multi-talented and hosts a movie memory podcast called “Where We Were When.” She also writes for the sketch comedy collective, “BoogieManja” and is the sketch comedy director of Washington D.C.’s Lit Comedy, showcasing performances, comedy classes, and workshops.
