If you’ve already watched all Laguna Beach episodes, stream the podcast in any order. All episodes are less than an hour each.
The TV series was broadcast on MTV from 2004-2006 and followed 8 teens navigating high school, drama, and relationships. Some cast members including Lauren Conrad and Lo Bosworth later joined MTV’s The Hills.
Tune into the podcast “Was It Real? The Hills Rewatch” with hosts and former co-stars Audrina Patridge, Brody Jenner, and Frankie Delgado to hear more about the series that was widely-speculated as scripted “reality” on MTV, much like Laguna Beach.
On “Back to the Beach with Kristin and Stephen’s” first episode, the hosts shared MTV’s casting process at Laguna Beach High School, where the network asked them to fill out informational packets with probing questions about their friends, family, and life in a beach town. Kristin shared she was one of the last people to get cast on the show.
The hosts candidly shared their salaries for season 1, filming experiences, MTV’s agenda, and they explored which drama was real. Kristin and Stephen talked about the cast members’ friendships prior to filming, how the “love triangle” plot unfolded with Kristin, Stephen, and Lauren, what actually happened to Stephen’s truck, and more in upcoming episodes.
