‘Life Out Loud with LZ Granderson’ chats with his family, queer guests, and allies like MJ Rodriguez, Dr. Fauci, and more
GMA’s “Life Out Loud with LZ Granderson” had a new season drop last week. In his podcast, journalist LZ brings his experiences as a gay, Black father to chat with guests from the LGBTQIA+ community and allies. This season, we’ll hear about topics like body positivity, non-monogamy, religion, queer friendships, parenting, on-screen representation, and more.
Start “Life Out Loud with LZ Granderson” in any order with the average episode running an hour long. Since 2021, the podcast has released over 13 episodes and counting. We’re looking forward to hearing from an amazing lineup this season, as LZ is ready to chat all about family and life with his son LZed. They’re getting candid about their relationship’s most challenging moments, healing stories, and what sacrifices LZ made after his divorce. LZed shares his experience growing up with a queer dad, and LZ shares what home means.
Season two’s guests included Margaret Cho, Don Lemon, Kornbread “The Snack” Jete, Arizona State Rep Daniel Hernandez Jr., and Dan Savagen – just to name a few.
In season one, LZ talked to Dr. Fauci about the pandemic and HIV/AIDS. Dr. Rachel Levine, the HHS Assistant Secretary for Health, joined LZ to discuss making history as the first openly transgender person confirmed by the Senate. In this episode, Dr. Levine shared advice for trans youth and parents.
Pose‘s Mj Rodriguez chatted about finding her authentic self, and Pose’s co-creator Steven Canals discussed breaking through in television history. In another episode, civil rights attorney, advocate, and the Human Rights Campaign’s first Black president Alphonso David stopped by the podcast to discuss his childhood, activism, and more. In another episode, LZ was joined by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, RuPaul’s Drag Race’s D.J. “Shangela” Pierce, and actor/model Daniel Newman.
