Start your Monday mornings off with some ‘Unsolicited Advice’ on everything from toxic friends to emotional cheating
YouTubers/comedians/now-former-roommates Ashley Nichole and Taryne Renee host their podcast “Unsolicited Advice.” Together, the two friends answer listener-submitted questions about dating, jobs, jealousy, plastic surgery, and anything else that is asked of them. Listeners have found that between laughs, they’re on the receiving end of an avalanche of gracious guidance.
These two hosts have been doling out so-called “Unsolicited Advice” (how unsolicited can it be if they are being directly asked from listeners?) since 2019. Over the course of nearly 160 episodes, they have covered topics from the usual breakup drama to the most embarrassing situations you can fathom. Episodes are typically just under an hour long and don’t need to be listened to in any particular order.
The two have talked about everything from friendship breakups to breaking up with your need for validation. They serve up cold hard truths (well, warm hard truths – they’re very sweet) about moving on from getting ghosted or getting shot down and navigating any sticky situation. They’ve discussed boundaries plenty of times, both setting up your own boundaries and respecting others’ (as in, don’t go snooping through any phones!).
They’ve talked about ways to overcome social anxiety, especially in academic venues when communicating with peers and professors is advantageous for academic excellence. In October, the two like to share true scary stories submitted by listeners. While most of those episodes are about spooky ghostly apparitions or family members that are a little freaky, the bonus episode was actually way too real when they talked about stalkers. The two give advice on how to stay safe and what to do if you find yourself being stalked.
Listeners praise the two for their infectious positivity and refreshing relatability. Not only are they downright hilarious, but their advice is genuinely applicable to everyday situations. Every episode sits us down between these two best friends who obviously care deeply for their audience.
“Unsolicited Advice with Ashley and Taryne” will have you stoked for your Monday mornings.
