Fresh out of the oven: 9 new podcasts to binge this August

Full stream ahead with several new podcasts this August, ranging from true crime to a pop culture commentary series, and a sports show. Tune into a C13Originals documentary podcast about Synanon, a drug rehab facility that became a violent cult in the 1960s and 1970s. The Sunshine Place

C13Originals, Susan Downey, and Robert Downey Jr. present “The Sunshine Place,” an 8-part investigative documentary series examining Synanon, an experimental drug rehab facility in the 1960s and 1970s that turned into one of the most dangerous and violent cults. On the podcast, hear from survivors, former members, chroniclers, and host Sari Crawford, the daughter of Synanon’s former leader, Bill Crawford.
