‘Guilty Pleasures’ is a safe space for all movies and TV shows – even Vin Diesel has a guilty pleasure movie that you’ll never guess
Shamelessly indulge in the movies you love to hate and hate to love with comedians Zach Kornfeld, Kelsey Darragh, and Garrick Bernard on their podcast “Guilty Pleasures.” Join the three as they take turns sharing their favorite guilty pleasure movies and television shows, from Gossip Girl to Gigli to Jennifer’s Body. Along with guests like Lana Condor, Thomas Sander, Shane Madej, and, oh yeah, Vin Diesel and John Cena, “Guilty Pleasures” is making guilty the new pink.
“Guilty Pleasures” began delighting the eardrums of people everywhere back in early 2021 when we had already binge-quarantine-watched everything else. There are now over 50 episodes to choose from that can be streamed in any order. Episodes of this Ramble podcast are typically just under an hour.
Hear Kelsey put her reputation all on the line while she defends the nightmare fuel that is Dear Evan Hansen. They obviously recorded this episode before Oscar nominations came out, since Kelsey was still holding out hope that they might receive even a little bit of recognition. Sadly, Steven Spielberg decided to give a masterclass this year on what movie musicals should be with West Side Story, so Dear Evan Hansen was left out to dry.
They talk all things wigs, casting adults as high schoolers, why casting hot adults as high schoolers somehow makes shows better (ahem, Euphoria), and Amy Adams still not having an Oscar despite being in one of the great movie musicals of our time, Enchanted.
While the trio’s commentary always has us chuckling, the three actually give very informed critiques. They’re talking about staging and acting performances and direction – it’s not just thoughtless banter about whether they loved or hated this movie. We’ve been seeing more film and TV podcasts that are thinking outside of the box, like “Too Long; Didn’t Watch” and “Newcomers,” and “Guilty Pleasures” is fitting right into that delightful little category.
Not all of their episodes are as contentious as Dear Evan Hansen. They all agree Alyson Stoner is the MVP of Camp Rock and should be recognized as such. The trio have indulged themselves with two out of three Pitch Perfect movies, Gossip Girl (both of them), He’s All That, The Holiday, and even The Trolls Movie. They’ve debated whether the ninth installment of the Fast & Furious franchise was nine too many films and have obviously debated which 2000s Disney movie musical reigns supreme: Cheetah Girls or High School Musical.
With Lana Condor, star of To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, they’ve indulged in the Netflix’s horniest reality show, Too Hot To Handle. Speaking of horny, they’ve obviously watched Twilight and New Moon during the franchise’s Renaissance era. They’ve called out The Academy for being too cowardly to give PIG an Oscar. They’ve listened to Shane Madej gush about Speed Racer and heard Elle Mills obsess over The Lizzie McGuire Movie. They’ve even spoken with Vin Diesel all about his guilty pleasure movie My Fair Lady. Vin Diesel! My Fair Lady! What a legend!
If you’re on the lookout for an easy listening podcast that’s sure to make you chuckle in agreement, be sure to check out “Guilty Pleasures.” Zach, Garrick, and Kelsey are just oozing charisma even when defending undefendable movies. Don’t miss out on the positively delightful hour of listening you could be getting every week with “Guilty Pleasures.”
