‘The Man Enough Podcast’ host Justin Baldoni opens up about conversations on vulnerability, parenting, and more with A-list guests
Podsauce’s Alesha and Dax chatted with Justin Baldoni about his series, “The Man Enough Podcast.” In this interview, Justin told Podsauce all about his podcast, why men need to embrace their vulnerability, how interviewing his father and wife were some of the podcast’s best moments, and more.
Alesha was stoked to speak with Justin since she watched him on TV show Jane the Virgin. Later in the episode, we hear why Dax appreciates “The Man Enough Podcast” and which specific episode resonated for him.
“The Man Enough Podcast” is about masculinity, hosted by Justin and his friends, Liz Plank and Jamey Heath, who are learning together in real time. Episodes explore conversations that are “millennialed,” bringing listeners along for a judgment-free journey. The series encourages space for people to have candid conversations about the human experience and to inspire everyone, not just men, to become better people.
“The Man Enough Podcast” has interviewed great guests including Shawn Mendes, Matthew McConaughey, and Rainn Wilson, just to name a few. In interviews, listeners will hear about masculinity, relationships, race, sex, parenting, career, and body image.
You can start the series in any order, and the 25+ episodes run around an hour long. Justin said he learns new things each episode and keeps finding new ideas he would have added to his book, Man Enough: Undefining My Masculinity, released in April 2021.
Dax recommended Emmanuel Acho’s episode if you’re first getting into “The Man Enough Podcast,” since he had his defenses up for the first half of the podcast, then they dug deeper and the conversation blossomed into an honest heart-to-heart. Emmanuel is a best-selling author, former NFL player, and hosts the YouTube series Uncomfortable Conversations with a Black Man.
Justin shared several key episodes of “The Man Enough Podcast,” including interviews with Alok Vaid-Menon, Sam Baldoni (his father), and Jamey Heath (co-host and Justin’s BFF).
Justin shared which shows he’s currently listening to, and said “We Can Do Hard Things with Glennon Doyle” is one of his favorites. He and Alesha also read Glennon’s book, Untamed. Justin loves his buddy’s show, “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” and also listens to “Armchair Expert.” Justin enjoys learning about biohacking, and tunes into “Ben Greenfield Fitness.” As a filmmaker, Justin likes learning from folks in the industry on shows like “The Director’s Cut – A DGA Podcast.”
